AgriFoodResults is a European project, funded by the European Commission that intends to answer the need for a better dissemination of results of food research. The vision is to improve the cost effectiveness of agree-food research activities by enhancing the transfer of the results to the end-users. Researchers will get guidance and information and food industry can get a one-stop-information pool.

Communication Star 2011

10 January 2011: deadline to send your two-pages applications

"Communication Star 2011" recognizes FP6 and PF7 food projects that make an outstanding contribution to communicating about their projects and results to a broader audience. Dissemination managers and project coordinators of past and running FP6 and FP7 projects are invited to submit a two-page applications describing their dissemination strategy before the 10 January 2011. The award ceremony will take place on 1 March 2011 at Renaissance hotel in Brussels under the auspices of the European Commission services represented by Maive Rute, director of the Biotechnologies, Agriculture and Food Directorate at DG Research.

AgriFoodResults Guidelines

"The basis of a communication approach is to have a reliable overview of the project."
Having a reliable overview of the project helps to identify research outputs that can be transformed into key messages. Messages should be focused on the needs of the audience you want to approach. Various stakeholders are not so much interested in how you reached the desired outcomes but rather in how your results can make easier their work or their lives.

This guide is designed to become an advisory tool for the agri-food scientist who has been allocated the task of dissemination of agri-food research projects.

"How to convert research results into an applicable format for SMEs?"vvvv
For successful communication with SMEs researchers should use a style which is easily and quickly understandable for them. Research results have to be converted to solutions applicable to SMEs.

The AgriFoodResults Guide for SMEs gives advice on how researchers can communicate their research results in the best way to food SMEs. The focus is on helping researchers to understand how to start, facilitate and succeed in the knowledge transfer process.

In  "You and the Media: A Research's Guide for Dealing successfully with the News Media" Herbet Funsten informs scientists about the basics of media relations and the media interview process.
